Mark your calendars for the coolest kickoff to the hockey season ever! The Manitowoc County Youth Hockey Association will be hosting Blade Bash, a fundraising event open to the public, on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 6:00 – 11:30 p.m. at the Manitowoc County Ice Center.
This adults-only event will feature the band Oil Can Harry, hamburgers/brats, alcohol and soda available for purchase as well as several chances to win cash prizes. Tickets to the event will cost $10, with one free burger or brat and one beverage received with each admission ticket. This event is happening in place of the MCYHA Driving Fore a Goal Golf Outing. All proceeds benefit the Manitowoc County Youth Hockey Association and will directly impact the fees families pay during the season.
Leading up to the event, MCYHA families will be selling $100 raffle tickets for a chance to win the grand prize of $10,000. Only 300 tickets will be sold for this raffle! In addition, there will be (1) $1000 prize, (2) $500 prizes, (4) $350 prizes, (22) $200 prizes. Families who sell tickets will receive credit towards their fundraising goals (exact amount to be determined). Tickets to be sold may be picked up by hockey families at the Manitowoc Ice Center on July 10th from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m., Summer Hockey at Cornerstone on July 15th and 29th and at Summer Ball Hockey at Bethany Lutheran on July 22nd . The winners will be announced at 9:00 p.m. the evening of Blade Bash (need not be present to win).
In order to give all MCYHA families an opportunity to sell raffle tickets, there will be a limit of 5 tickets available for each family to pick up in July at the designated dates/times until all 300 tickets are sold. If tickets remain at later dates, you may contact Chloe Cigler to arrange pick up for more tickets. All tickets must be paid for before additional tickets will be distributed. Ticket stubs, money, and unsold tickets are due September 1st. Families will be billed for any tickets that are not returned by this date.
We are looking for businesses/organizations to sponsor this event. As a thank you from the players and the Association for cash donations, businesses/organizations will be promoted throughout the night, on social media prior to and during the event, as well as by displaying the business/organization name and/or logo on a banner at the Manitowoc County Ice Center for the upcoming year. If you know of a business that might be interested in sponsoring, please contact Carrie Wallander or Jane Seiler.
Families of MCYHA will be asked to help ensure this event runs smoothly and is successful. We will have many volunteer hours available for helping the day of this event. Please plan on having at least one adult member of your family available to work the event on this day; this event is what will help keep your hockey player’s fees low. We will also have entrance tickets available for pre-sale beginning in August. If you would be interested in helping to plan this event, are willing to obtain sponsorships or items for raffle baskets, please plan to attend the Blade Bash planning meeting at Summer Ball Hockey on Sunday, July 8th at Bethany Lutheran School, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. Volunteer hours are available for those that are on the Blade Bash committee. Please contact Chloe Cigler at 920-860-6864 or firstname.lastname@example.org for immediate questions.
