MCYHA is run and supported entirely by volunteers, without the assistance of paid personnel. For this reason, each hockey family is required to fulfill a certain number of volunteer credits each season. To fill volunteer opportunities, please log in and view available opportunities in Dibs.
Please understand that it is part of our contract with Manitowoc County that we carry out all of the following duties, during and after each use of the ice, without their assistance for 2017-18. Any failure on our part to manage these duties effectively will result in higher fees for ice in subsequent seasons.
Families of skaters in HIP are exempt from this requirement. The hockey season is defined by WAHA as May 1st through April 30th.
For families whose oldest skater is at the Mini Mite level, the required number of hours is 10. For families whose oldest skater is at the Mite level, the required number of hours is 20. For families whose oldest skater is at Squirt Level or above, the requirement for volunteer hours is 40. All families are required to work at least two public skate session (2 hours). These hours will be credited toward your total. At the end of the season, any family not completing the above requirements will be billed $20.00 per credit not completed.
